Our Mission & Vision

Kānehili Community Association champions housing solutions and socioeconomic uplift for Native Hawaiians, nurtures cultural identity and youth through native heritage and history, and promotes stewardship and preservation of our island’s precious natural resources.

Our History

Established March 3, 2011 as a Hawaii‑based nonprofit, Kānehili Community Association was formed to advance government‑aligned efforts supporting Native Hawaiian wellbeing. Over time, it has expanded its focus to include cultural education, community empowerment, and preservation of local ecosystems.

Core Values

Grounded in kuleana (responsibility) to Native Hawaiian families, Kānehili values inclusive and culturally rooted community support, intergenerational learning, environmental stewardship, and collaboration with government and partners to uplift, preserve, and strengthen our heritage, resources, and youth.

Our Leadership

Guided by a diverse board of dedicated community leaders, Kānehili Community Association draws on the energies and expertise of community leaders committed to housing equity, cultural perpetuation, youth development, and environmental care.
